The Consolidation of the San Giorgio in Salici Natural Tunnel – gallerie&tunneling
The new AV/AC Brescia East-Verona railway line spans about 48 km, starting in Mazzano (BS) and reaching Verona, mostly running alongside existing infrastructures. The project involves a preliminary consolidation before tunnel excavation, executed in three phases due to interference with the highway. The first phase, covering the initial 170 meters, involved jet grouting with 1,200 mm diameter columns using bifluid technique, followed by excavation.
